New Release! “Full Cost Accounting” (4 min)
http://madeinalberta.ca/full-cost-accounting-flash.shtml
We
continue our interview with Gordon Howell about comparing prices and
watching trends between solar and Alberta’s conventional mix of (mostly
coal) electricity. With environmental and health costs piling up, coal
looks like less and less of a bargain. On “In the Green” we meet a
cycle-powered inventor with a social message.
Playing on
Shaw TV – Saturday and Sunday! “Passive Solar” (4 min.)
The Atchisons of Edmonton built a house that has used half the energy of
a typical Edmonton house over the last 25 years. Their bright and cozy
home employs energy efficiency and passive solar energy for heat and
comfort all year round. To watch on-line, click here:

Field Notes - “Envisioning a Solar Alberta”
If you ever wanted to help out the Alberta Solar Energy Society (...as
we may be called after tonight. A name change is on the agenda...) but
didn’t feel you had the right technical expertise, tonight is your night
to shine. Recognizing the fast-changing external environment in 2010,
tonight’s meeting is all about future direction, positioning, promotion
and sponsorship. You can purchase a $25.00 membership on-site or just
sit in and find out what’s up with your local solar society – the oldest
and most active in Canada.
Coming Up Next Week
A
return to more or less normal scheduling for the rest of the season (I
hope :)
