“Trashionistas – Making a Fashion Statement with Used Bike Parts and
Other Found Objects”
Helen Winter used to be
a professional metal-smith, until… “It really started to get to me. I
would be working with these materials and think, what did it take to get
this out of the Earth?” Helen hosted a trashionistas session during
Edmonton Bike Month 2008, and many like-minded folks came out to play.
Edmonton’s Harcourt
House gallery provided the venue, and our own Wendy McNeill adds her
gorgeously haunting music to this video exploration of the relationship
between bikes, culture and ecology.
